Sunday, December 9, 1928 The light snow of last evening turned to rain in then froze so that we had a glare of ice this morning. Had to put the new chains on the Packard to get out of the yard. Drove in to church and church school at Calvary. Violette is sick in bed with a hard grippe cold. T.P.H. and I drove down here and took her some chicken broth and ginger ale. We brought Clayton out home with us to dinner then took him right back home. Tes took him in and visited with Violette a while. She also went over to see her father, who has been sick a long time but who is better now. T.P.H., Sally, and I went over to the Spring Glen Club to a Supper Tea. A good crowd came out for it.
