Friday, December 21, 1928 T.P.H. and I drove up to Hartford this afternoon to see the play that Sarah had produced for the Oxford School Christmas Play. It was given at the church house of the Immanuel Cong. Church. The plays was "Saint Francis Keeps Christmas at Greccio, 1223". It was splendidly done and was a credit to Sarah and to the children who took part. We had dinner in Hartford with Sally and Dorothy Rawson (she helped Sally with the lights). Then Tess and I drove down home and directly to Woolsey Hall to the concert given by the University Glee Club of New Haven. It was a wonderful concert. So restful and fine. President Elect Hoover arrived in Rio De Janerio, Brazil today on his good will tour of Central and South America. He arrived on board the U.S.S. Utah. They gave him a wonderful reception.
