Saturday, December 22, 1928 Very cold this morning but no snow on the ground. The news papers say that some thermometers here in Hamden showed as low as 7°. It does not seem as cold as that. Sarah came home this morning from Hartford quite pleased with the play. T.P.H. and Sally called for me at the store at six and took me down to West Haven to a dinner of the Demolay Chapter. I spoke to them and their fathers and mothers who were there. President Elect Hoover will soon finish his good will town of Latin America. He is now in Rio Janerio, Brazil. The people there are tendering him a very warm welcome. Mr. Hoover has made a very good impression on our South American neighbors.
