Sunday, December 30, 1928 Another fine day, colder than yesterday but clear as a bell. Not a bit of snow yet this Winter. T.P.H. and I drove into town. She to St. Paul's and I to Calvary to church and to church school. T.P.H. called for me and we had dinner at home. This evening, we down to Orange Street to call on Mrs. Knapp, Aletha and Larry and Nancy. We had supper with them and visited till quite late. The newspapers tell of the drowning of Norman Hall, junior at Yale and gaurd on the football team at Neptune, N.J. He broke through the ice while skating. He rescued Miss Geng then went back to help Leonard Geng, a classmate, and never came to the surface. --- (There is a [newspaper clipping](<Newspaper Clipping from December 30th, 1928.md>) on Norman Hall's death.)
