Thursday, February 2, 1928 To Springfield store today. Went up and back on the train. Violette went up as far as Hartford with me. She went up to see Arthur Fox, who is very ill in the Hartford Hospital. Had lunch with Mr. Shaffer at the Pickwick Room, Hotel Kimball. Took supper down town and then attended a meeting of Trumbull Lodge (Masonic). It was the first opportunity I have had of visiting the new temple on Whitney Ave. It is certainly very beautiful and very sensible. The fraternity has needed it for such a long time. Our meeting was held in the Egyptian Room, which is very colorful and bright. --- (My instincts said that Arthur Fox is a relation to Lillian's husband. But I couldn't find a relation named "Arthur" and from [3/2/1928](1928_03_02.md) it seems that he's a close friend instead.)
