Rotary Club luncheon at the Hotel Taft. Speaker was a representative from the Koppers Coke Co., who are just locating in New Haven down on the meadows beyond Tomlinson Bridge. Drove up to Hartford late this afternoon to attend regular monthly meeting of the Conn. Council of Religious Education. Going up, I went by the way of Cheshire and over the hills to Meriden. It was raining hard and up on top of the Meriden Mountain, it was just cold enough to freeze so that it was all glare ice. I had to go down the other side in second speed all the way. Rather a dangerous and exciting ride.
