Wednesday, February 15, 1928 This is Charles Lincoln's birthday, so Luetta asked Harley and Alice, Violette and Clayton, Tess and I out to dinner tonight as a surprise to him. We had a lovely dinner and enjoyed the sociality of it very much. We collectively took him the life of Abraham Lincoln by Carl Sandberg in two volumes. He was so pleased with them. Tess and I left early and drove down to St. Paul's Church, Chapel and Olive Streets, to the reception given by the church to the new rector, Mr. Weir. He is taking the place made vacant when Mr. Elmore McKey went to Yale. [Prev](1928_02_14.md) - [Next](1928_02_16.md) <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/d/1E9lkGRmArt0JAdSTCShVj4_T_DLo0K2d">
