We awoke this morning to a glorious world in white. During the night, the rain had turned to snow and several inches of it had fallen and was still falling. Every tree and wire and house was heavily coated with the wet snow. It is beautiful. Sarah brought several of the students from the Yale Drama School out this afternoon and they borrowed sleds from the children of the neighborhood and went coasting. They had a marvelous time, especially one girl from California. It was her first snow experience. This is really the first snow of the Winter, which is very unusual. T.P.H., Sarah, and I went into the arena and saw Yale win a hockey game from the University Club of Boston (George Owens team) 5 to 1. Palmer for Yale was just wonderful.
