Sunday, February 26, 1928 The coldest morning of the year so far. Three below zero at five a.m. and still one below at nine o'clock. Sarah took me in to church and church school then she and a group of students from the Yale Drama School went off on a picnic up beyond Meriden somewhere. Dr. Samuel Graham Neil preached this morning and spoke to the church school at noon. He gave the invitation for the christian life and many children responded by rising. It was a good response seeing no preparation had been made. The whole church is upset over the death of Mr. S.B. Warren. Sally brought the gang back here and T.P.H. fed them chicken, dumplings, and waffles.
