Wednesday, February 29, 1928 Harley and I went up to Springfield on the train. Had lunch with Harry Fitch at the Hotel Kimball. Mr. Fitch then drove me up to Montague City, Mass., a suburb of Greenfield, to see Aunt Lucy, who is ill in the hospital there. I took her some flowers and sat with her for an hour. I am not too sure that she was conscious of my presence, although I think she knew I was there. She is very very ill and cannot, I fear, last much longer. We drove back to Greenfield and called on some customers, then back to Springfield in time for dinner. We held a demonstration at our Springfield store tonight, about forty painters attending. The A.C. Harn Company sent representatives to demonstrate their TX-Crete, a plastic wall finish. It was a very successful demonstration. Harley and I spent the night at the Kimball.
