My fifty second birthday today. Received congratulations from many friends and some lovely gifts from the family. T.P.H., Sarah, and Violette gave me a lovely umbrella that fits into a case like a walking stick. Harley gave me "Elbert Hubbard's Scrap Book", which I have wanted so much. T.P.H. also gave me "Ivanhoe" in the century edition, which adds to my set of Scott. I received letters from Auntie "B", Aunt Marie, Aunt Lucy, Little Lucy, and Alice Drew Lockwood so that I heard from all the "Drews", which was much appreciated. Spent the entire day and evening at the Hotel Taft in attendance on the Annual Convention of the Conn. Master Painters Society. Meetings all day and a smoker tonight. The weather is ideal. Not a lot of snow on the ground so that all could come in automobiles.
