Very cold again this morning. Attended the funeral of W. Scott Eames (who died suddenly last Tuesday down in Florida) at the First Methodist Church as an honorary bearer. Rev. Franklyn J. Kennedy had charge of the funeral. I have never seen a finer floral tribute than was in evidence at this funeral. The whole front of the church was bauked solid with made up floral pieces. Dr. Kennedy paid him a remarkable tribute for his honesty, straight forwardness, Christian manhood. I would consider my life a real success if a man could say of me what Dr. Kennedy said about Scott Eames yesterday. T.P.H. and I went out to the Edgewood Club to supper and from there called for Sally at the Yale Drama School. Carol Maurer of New York was there and she came and spent the night with us. Snowing and flowing hard. The first real snow storm of the Winter.
