Hot - Hotter - Hottest day of the year. Way above 90 degrees all day and all night too. I was worked in the garden till about one o'clock. Came in and had a bath, shaved, and ate dinner. Dorothy Rawson came back from town in time for dinner. Bob Chandler and Midge Hills came down from Hartford and we went in to York Street store to select the the Wall Paper for their new home in New London. They are to be married in August. We came back out and T.P.H. had supper ready for us all. Then they went on to Hartford. It sure is hot but we need it badly to make the crops grow. Mayor Ben Tower, who died in June, lost the oldest son of the family today. He died of asthma and "T.B.". We are so sorry for Anne, the widow and mother.
