Thursday, July 12, 1928 Not raining this morning yet not entirely clear. Drove up to the Springfield store. Took T.P.H. with me. Stopped in Westfield at the Bryan Hardware Co. Dressed a Wall Paper window for them then went on over to Springfield. We had lunch at the Hotel Kimball. T.P.H. then went out to spend the afternoon with Mrs. Newell, who has been laid up on account of an accident to her hip. Mr. Page drove me out there after the store closed and they insisted we stay to supper. Left there about 9 o'clock and drove home. Beautiful sunset up there and looked as though the rainy spell had been broken but when we neared home and reached Cheshire, we ran into rain again and it rained all night.
