The hottest day of all. 93° and up depending on the thermometer and the veracity of the reader. Drove up to the Springfield store today and took Violette and Lota with me. We went up the College Highway. Stopped at Westfield and I called on the Bryan Hardware Co. We then went on to Springfield. Had lunch at the Hotel Kimball, which they enjoyed very much. The girls went down town to look through the stores while I was busy at the store. We started back home at about four thirty. Arrived home safely and had dinner with Violette, which was most acceptable, as Tess was in Norwalk. Came back to Spring Glen and attended a meeting of the Board of Governors of the club. Then came home and worked till midnight on the New Haven Grays notices for the annual meeting.
