Fearfully hot again today up to about four thirty when we had a sharp, short shower and the thermometer dropped twenty degrees in an hour. Had lunch at the Quinnipiac Club. Attended a meeting of the Budget Committee of the New Haven Council of Boys Scouts at the office of the N.H. Gas Co. Then presented ourselves and our budget to the Budget Committee of the Community Chest for their approval or disapproval. We think we asked for a modest increase and for very good purposes. Had my supper at Longleys then came out to the Spring Glen Club to a meeting of the Spring Glen Community Inc. to listen plens of Mr. Harvey for converting the William's property on Whitney Ave into three stores. There was much discussion, mostly against the proposition.
