Beautiful day. Rotary luncheon at the Hotel Taft. Then we all left immediately in our own automobiles for Harry Brown's farm in Southbury for our annual outing. I rode out with Bill McCarice. We all played baseball, volleyball, pitched quoits and horse shoes, then sat down to supper at tables under the apple trees in the orchard. We had steaks and baked potatoes. Cooked out of doors. Milk from the New Haven Dairy Co. Ice cream from Harris Hart Co, etc, etc. After supper, we gathered under the apple trees sat down on the grass and listened to an original poem by Phil Browning, speach by Don Adams on the recent Minneapolis Convention. I rode home with Don North and we came up over the Woodbridge Hills straight home.
