Friday, July 27, 1928 Lousy and showery all day and all night with heavy rain after midnight. Met at the armory on Meadow Street and took a load of Grays down to Camp Trumbull, Niantic, Conn. We held the annual meeting of the New Haven Grays Veterans Association there. We first watched the 102nd Infantry pass in review after retreat, Col. Lewis Field in command. Then we had mess as guests of the Active Company at their mess hall. After the actives had eaten, we held our meeting at the tables. About sixty veterans went down. I brought six home with me.
