Monday, July 30, 1928 Left for New York this morning on the eight o'clock train for the Wall Paper Convention. Delightfully and cool all day. Meeting of the National Wall Paper Wholesalers Association. Both morning and afternoon sessions at the Hotel Commodore. Banquet tonight. I was appointed chairman of the Resolutions Committee and prepared resolutions on the death of Mr. James E. Shackey of Providence and Mr. Baker of Detroit. Harley came down late this afternoon in time for dinner. We have a comfortable room at the Commodore on the sixteenth floor on the 42nd Street side. T.P.H. drove up to Camp Arden, Brattleboro, Vermont to spend Sally's birthday with her (Wednesday).
