Monday, June 11, 1928 Board of Governors meeting at the Quinnipiack Club at 12-30. John Dewarest presided as President George Berger is in Europe. The chair appointed Carlton Stevens, Ed Everit, and myself a committee to draw up resolutions on the death of Mayor John B. Tower, a former president of the club and mayor of the city when he died. Left the store at three o'clock and came out home and worked in the garden till dinner time. Planted my second installment of corn and beans. After dinner, T.P.H. and I went down to Whitney Estate and saw the performance of the "Sorcerer", put on by the Jitney Players.
