Wednesday, June 27, 1928 A beautiful Summer day, clear and hot and we do so enjoy it after so much rain. I went into the Hartford territory with Mr. Chamberlain. Stopped in Meriden to see Harry Chittenden. He is moving into his new store farther up Main Street. Drove on to Hartford and had lunch and attended a meeting of the Conn. Council of Religious Education at Hotel Bond, after which I joined Mr. Chamberlain and called on customers in Hartford and South Manchester. Drove home and spent the evening planting rose bushes around our new gateway on the Meadowbrook Road side and the new clothesline trellises.
