Wednesday, March 14, 1928 Foggy and raining today. Intended to drive to Springfield but went up on the train instead. Of course returned on the train also. The newspapers of today record the awful catastrophe that took place in California yesterday morning. A dam gave way in the San Francisquito Canyon and flooded the valley. At this date 248 are known to be dead and 600 others missing. The financial loss may run to 30 million dollars. Some reports say that an earthquake loosened the foundation of the dam. This water project was a part of the Los Angeles water supply. [Prev](1928_03_13.md) - [Next](1928_03_15.md) <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/d/11YPIBCCJPuD_xGpd2IC_QCNVP_C70gZN">
