Doris would have been 26 years old today had she lived. We miss her as much today as ever. T.P.H. took some flowers up to the cemetery. I went to Springfield store and returned on the train. Pouring rain nearly all day long. Drove over to Westfield with Mr. Shafer to see the Bryan Hardware Co. about putting in a stock of Wall Papers. Arrived in New Haven at six P.M. and went up to Cafe Mellone to a dinner of the Master Painters Association. Was called upon for a speach. Spoke on the "Friendships of Business Life".
