Clear and fine again today but still cool. Had lunch at the Quinnipiack Club today. Worked at the office all day. Met at the armory on Meadow Street at 6-30 at the "Grays Room" and went from there out to "Pilgrim Lodge" on the Milford Turnpike to celebrate the annual get together of the State Guard Group of the New Haven Grays. We had a fine dinner singing old Gray songs the while. As usual, I presided as a sort of toast master and the speakers were Major Crabb, Major Ballmann, Capt. McClelland, Lieutenant Walter B. Curtiss and Captain Daniel Strickland, former captain of old Company D of the Second Infantry, now chaplain of the 102nd Inf C.N.G. also pastor of the Howard Ave. Cong Church. He gave us a fine talk on his experiences as a German prisoner of war.
