Friday, May 18, 1928 Rained all day and all night. D.L. Chapman new started to paint the house today so we didn't welcome the rain although the Earth needs it badly. Hagel Graner Swanson died this morning at her father's home on Bedford Ave., Spring Glen. She had suffered long with T.B. I called there tonight to see the sad group of dear folk. Sarah spent the night with the group of young folks of the theatre after a rehearsal at the Yale Drama School. The City Street Department are cutting away both "Greens" in Broadway for better traffic arrangements. We old timers hate to see the plots of grass and trees disappear.
