Rained hard all night and again all day today and is still raining. This was "Derby Day" at Yale, the day when the crews hold their regatta on the Housatonic River at Derby Conn. Yale is to entertain and compete with Harvard, Princeton, and Cornell. The rain will no doubt effect the spectators more than it will the crews. Violette had a letter from Bert Hodges telling us that he and Jess would sail from England for the U.S.A. on May 26th and pay us all a visit. We shall be glad to see them. Sarah went to Hartford today and made arrangements to teach drama at the Oxford School next year. It seems like a good opportunity for her. Yale won the varsity and junior varsity races. Harvard won the 150 lb race. Princeton won the freshman race.
