Thursday, May 24, 1928 Drove into town early this morning. Breakfast at "Longleys". Drove to Westfield, Mass to do cooperating work for the Bryan Hardware Co. then went on over to the Springfield store. Rained all afternoon. Left Springfield at six o'clock and came home via the College Highway. Stopped and had some supper at the Farmington Coffee Shop, Farmington Conn. Arrived home about nine o'clock. Found T.P.H. a good deal better but still very weak. Newspapers are full of accounts of the bombshell President Coolidge threw into the Senate when he vetoed the second draft of the McNary-Haugen Farm Relief Bill. He sure did denounce it and its proposers. It will be interesting to note the result in the coming Republican National Convention at Kansas City.
