Monday, November 5, 1928 Took Mr. Gorham from the store and drove up to Tarrington to cooperate with our customer T.J. Smith in decorating his booth at the Home Beautiful Show held in the Armory there. We had lunch and dinner at Connelly's Inn. After the evening session at the show, we drove home. I arrived home at about one o'clock. This is the eve of the National Election. Both Mr. Herbert Hoover, the Republican candidate, and Alfred E. Smith, the Democratic candidate, gave their last messages to the American people over the radio tonight. Never in the history of the Nation has there been such intense interest nor never before has there been so many millions of people registered to vote. We are hoping and praying for Mr. Hoover's election, for a great great deal depends on it.
