Thursday, November 15, 1928 Warm day for November. Perhaps a weather breeder for storm over the weekend, when we all hope to be down to Princeton at the football game. Drove down to Milford this noon and spoke on "Scouting" to the Milford Rotary Club. They make themselves responsible for the money needed to support the Boys Scout work in Milford. Tonight attended the dinner of the Community Chest at the Hotel Taft. This was to be the final meeting of the campaign. The effort went "over the top" and $26,478.00 surplus. The amount to be raised this year was $610,000.00. The total amount actually pledged is $636,478.00, the largest surplus ever given. I went back to the store and worked on Wallpaper records til 10-30 then called at the Shubert Theatre for Sarah, who had gone to see Jane Cowl.
