Beautiful day again today. Warm and bright and lovely. Worked all morning at the office then took the 11-50 train for Boston going over the Shore Line. It was a beautiful ride. The colored foliage, glimpses of the sound from time to time and the bright sunshine. Don Adams was on the train going to Providence so we ate lunch together in the dining car then went up in the club car and talked "Rotary" all the rest of the way. Arriving in Boston, I walked up to the new Hotel Statler, rested awhile, then went over to the Boston City Club to the annual meeting of the New England Wall Paper Dealers Ass'n. We had fine dinner and a good meeting. I was released from the presidency and Mr. Carl Richardson was elected president. I spent the night at the Hotel Statler.
