Awoke in Boston at the Hotel Statler. After breakfast, took the 10 o'clock train for home, coming as going over the Shore Line. It was a delightful trip. I took the time to read Herbert Hoover's campaign speach given last night in Madison Square Garden, New York to over 20,000 people. It was a remarkable exposition of his ideas and plans of the Republican administration, should he be elected president on November sixth next. Had lunch in New Haven then worked at my desk all afternoon. Hard rain storm this afternoon. T.P.H. went with Sally to Hartford to the Oxford School where Sarah teaches drama every Tuesday.
