Friday, September 7, 1928 Looked clear this morning but it soon clouded over and is raining again tonight. The state Republican Convention was held in New Haven today at the Hyperion Theatre on Chapel Street. The following nominations were made: For U.S. Senator Frederick C. Walcott For Governor John H. Trumbull For Lt. Governor Ernest E. Rogers For Secy of State Dr. William L. Higgins For Treasurer Samuel R. Spencer George Hanbury was a delegate from Newington. He introduced me to Gov. Trumbull. In thinking over the arrangements that we made with the Lloyd people in New York yesterday, I feel that it is the biggest thing that we have ever done in the Wall Paper business and we hope that it will mean a huge success for us.
