Monday, September 10, 1928 Clear and cool again today and it is most welcome. Mr. Chamberlain and I started to select No. 3 Book today (old special). Mr. E.B. Pratt of the Robert Graves Co. came down and went through the line with us. I had lunch with him at the Hotel Taft. Our whole organization, both York Street and Springfield went down to Wilcox's Restaurant, Savin Rock, tonight for a dinner and meeting. We had a fine dinner and a good meeting. H.M.H. outlined the plan of giving the entire force a 5% increase in their salaries for the next four months as an incentive to increase the business. The offer was received gladly. The state of Maine had their election today and went overwhelmingly Republican.
