Saturday, September 22, 1928 A beautiful day. Clear as a bell and so unusual this Summer that we have to talk about it. Closed the store at one o'clock but I worked till five as I wanted to finish ordering the wallpapers for the new line. Everything is ordered now but a part of the 30 inch stand. Had dinner at home. "Pete" Barker was our guest. He has just returned for another year at the Yale Drama School. The contractors are putting in curbs and gutters in front of our house. They have just passed our lot so now we can get our car back in the garage. It is so very cool tonight, almost feels like a frost.
