Thursday, September 27, 1928 Still very cold for this time of year. We have not lighted our furnace yet but have had to run both fireplaces. John Coolidge, who is the son of President Coolidge, had an automobile smash up this morning at the corner of Edwards and Livingstone Streets. He had been up to Plainville to see Miss Trumbull, daughter of Governor Trumbull of Connecticut and his fiance and was coming down to work at the "Yellow Building" where he works for the N.Y.N.H. and H.R.R.'d Co. The New Haven Paint and Oil Club held a meeting and dinner at Wilcox's Savin Rock tonight. Pretty cold for September. Yale University opened again today.
