Cloudy but no rain until evening. Drove to Springfield store today, stopped in Westfield and called on the Bryan Hardward Co. Had lunch at the Park Square Hotel then went on to Springfield. Came home in time for dinner. Richmond Curtiss called to see us tonight. He leaves on the midnight train for Burlington, Vermont for his last term at the University of Vermont. He has made good there. He hopes to enter Yale Forestry School this Autumn. The Republic of France paid their final mark of tribute. U.S. Ambassador Myron T. Herrick, who died on duty there last Sunday. They truly mourned his passing and are paying his memory and our government great honor in sending his body home on the French warship "Tourville", one of their fast cruisers.
