Very cold and windy today. Slept late then worked out in the garden till mid afternoon. Had dinner at home with Father and Mother Peck. Truman, Bertha, and Ruth Beckly called today. We were so glad to see them. Aletha and Larry Stone have a bran new daughter born today at the New Haven Hospital. She is to be called "Betsy". The German zeppelin "Graf Zepplin" landed at Lakehurst, N.J. today. It had traveled 4175 miles in 95 hours 19 minutes at an average speed of 43 miles per hour. 100,000 people greeted her at the end of the voyage. She brought over 18 passengers and the fare was $2,000.00 each. Also 15 sacks of mail, 600 canaries, a baby gorilla, and a young chimpanzee, and considerable freight.
