Rained today up till just after noon then cleared off cool. Quite cool tonight. George Hanbury of the Robert F. Hobbs Co. at the store today going over his line of Wallpapers. We had lunch together at the Taft. We received a letter from Sarah sending us some snapshots taken at Blackpool with Aunt Jane, Percy, and Bert. Home tonight. T.P.H. wrote to Sally and I wrote to Bert and Jess. We took them in town to mail then stopped and saw Violette on the way back. Lois Hodges Clark was operated this afternoon at St. Raphael's Hospital for appendicitis. Dr. Verdi operated. She had been ill but for a few days. The German zeppelin reached Tokyo, Japan today in 101 hours and 53 minutes from Frederickshafer, Germany, having covered 6,880 miles from Lakehurst, New Jersey across two continents.
