Wednesday, August 21, 1929 Another beautiful day but very cool for August. Thermometer down to 45° this morning. We lit a wood fire in the fireplace. It was too cool for Mother Peck. Lunch at Quinnipiack Club. Drove out to the Race Brook Country Club this evening and made my official visit to the Ansonia Rotary Club who held a special meeting there, an outing this afternoon, and a dinner at 6:30, at which I spoke to the club then held a meeting with the Board of of Directors afterwards.
