Saturday, August 31, 1929 Store closed at one o'clock. Had lunch in town then went down to West Haven to the funeral of Charles Hooker Barnes, a veteran Gray. Six members of the Active Company were the bearers. They wore their Gray fatigue uniforms. Dr. Harry Regan and I were also bearers representing the veterans. Had dinner at home.
