Saturday, December 7, 1929 Rainy, misty foggy day. Worked all day and up to 6-30. Store closed at 5 P.M. Mr. Hyde and I waited for some customers from Clinton, Conn. to select some Wall Paper. They kept us there till 6-30. T.P.H. called for me and we went out to the Edgewood Club to a New England supper. Spent the evening there dancing and visiting with old time friends. Drove down to the Yale Drama School and called for Sally and Peter, who came out with us. Letter from Alice and Fred Lockwood from Hotel Plaza, Jersey City. They were on their way to Florida and got smashed up with a bus and are marooned in Jersey City till their car is fixed. Neither were hurt. I wired to them our feelings in the matter.
