Arrived in New Haven from Boston on the sleeper at about four A.M. We were privileged to sleep till seven o'clock. Got up and went over to the Garde Hotel for breakfast then to the store at eight o'clock. We held our Rotary Family Party this noon at Hotel Taft. The luncheon being served in the Ball Room. We had a lot of fine children and a nice program. Tessie and Sally went with me, Peter being in New York. I called and saw Mrs. Wood this morning. She is all in nervously. T.P.H., Sally, Peter, and I went out to the Edgewood Club to a New Year's Party. Pete was delayed on his way up from New York as a big truck crashed through the fence at wood lawn and blocked the tracks. We had a lot of fun at the club. Made a lot of noise at twelve o'clock. Then had supper afterward. Thus endeth the writing of this lesson. We look forward hopefully to the New Year.
