Saturday, February 23, 1929 Cloudy but fortunately no rain this morning. But later, the sun broke through and shone warm and bright. Harley returned to the store this morning from Chicago. He left last week Friday to attend the Convention of Paint Jobbers. He reports heavy snow and much cold in the Middle West. I worked till 5-30 then came home on the trolley car. Sarah got on the same car so we came home together. This is Father Peck's 88th birthday. T.P.H. made a birthday cake for him. He was much pleased with it.
