Friday, July 5, 1929 Lovely day all day till evening when we enjoyed a much needed shower. Luncheon this noon at the Graduates Club with the Board of Directors of the New Haven Rotary Club. T.P.H. and Sarah went to New York today to spend the night with Cally Davis at Plainfield, N.J. Pete will join them there tonight. I am going down tomorrow and meet them at the pier and see he sail (Sarah, I mean). She sails on the "American Merchant" of the U.S. Lines, formerly of the "Shipping Board". Richmond Curtiss came home yesterday. He came down to the store and rode down to the station with us to wish Sally a fine trip. He is crushed over Ruth going out.
