Sunday, July 7, 1929 With the Davises at Plainfield, New Jersey. Had a long and restful sleep this morning. Woke up to the tune of little Terry's piping voice. My, but he is a peach of a boy. We had breakfast together then sat around and visited till dinner time. We had dinner with them and then they drove us down to the Plainfield Station and took the 3-33 train to Jersey City, crossed to New York on the ferry, and took subway train to New York Grand Central Station. Caught the four o'clock (Standard Time) on the New Haven for home. Was lucky enough to get seats in the parlor car. It was fearfully hot in New Jersey and New York but quite a bit cooler when we arrived at home. We found everything all right at home. Sally is now out twenty four hours and a little more.
