Friday, July 12, 1929 Another beautiful day, clear and hot. We do need rain so badly. Went in to the store this morning. Took care of my mail then started for Springfield store. Stopped at the house and picked up T.P.H. and took her along with me. Left her at the Newells in Springfield and I went on to the store. Had lunch at the Kimball with a National Lead Co. man. Made some calls on customers in the afternoon then went out to the Newells and dinner with them, leaving there at 9 o'clock for home, arriving about eleven. We had a nice day together. Secured my first new size one dollar bill today. They are much smaller than the old ones, but will be handier when we get used to them.
