Very hot again today. Worked till one o'clock then closed for the day. Had lunch at home then worked out in the garden till dark. Put peat moss on the shrubbery borders. It is very dry. We had a letter from the Federal State Department advising us officially of the sailing from Bahia of the "Western World" with Ruth's dear body on board also telling us that she would dock early Wednesday morning. Dr. Donovan (Howard's father) and his wife arrived in New York from Illinois today. He will await the coming of Howard there.
Tonight I worked on my Rotary speach to be made on my official visits to the clubs.
