Tuesday, July 16, 1929 Arose early and drove into town. After taking care of the mail, I drove up to Lee, Mass. to make my first official visit to the Lee Rotary Club. They held their meeting at the East Lee Inn. They had nearly a 100% meeting and I enjoyed it very much. Stopped at Stockbridge at the Play House to say hello to Pete Barker. He was not there. Also stopped and visited with Mr. W.W. Buckingham at Sheffield, Mass. Drove on down to Seymour, Conn. and paid an official visit to the Seymour Rotary Club. Had their dinner at the Congregational Church. Violette and Clayton went down to New York today to meet Dr. and Mrs. Donovan, Howard's father, and they will all meet Howard and Ruth's body tomorrow on the arrival of the boat from Bahia.
