Another beautiful day. Very warm in the sun but clear and lovely. Violette and Clayton in New York today to meet the boat from Bahia, Brazil with Howard Donovan and Ruth's body. Howard's father and step mother also there. Hawly Lincoln of Beecher, Bennett, and Lincoln went down to New York personally to receive the casket. He brought it to New Haven in their own hearse. I attended a meeting at the home of Prof. Archer on Whitney Ave, Hamden to talk over the proposition of establishing a Protestant Church at Spring Glen. Decided to calla public meeting in the fall.
Received a cablegram from Bert Hodges yesterday telling us that Sally had arrived safely and happily in London and that he had met her.
