Saturday, July 20, 1929 Very cold this morning. Thermometer down to 45°. Warmed up during the day but cool again tonight. Closed the store at noon. I came home to lunch, worked in the garden all afternoon putting peat moss around the shrubbery. After dinner tonight, T.P.H. and I went over to Violette's. Howard had returned from New York so we had a chance to visit with him too. Whittock's Book Store moved today to a store on Broadway that will run back and have an entrance on York Street and the Yale Coop Store also moved onto York Street just North of us. This is on preparation of Yale's plan of tearing down the old buildings on Elm Street between York and High to build new dormitories for students.
